Dinner in Beirut without the Mar Mikhael price tag: a night on Salim Slam
· 2 min read
Beirut has two kinds of dinner. The one you photograph, and the one you come back to every week. This is a guide to the second kind.
When to come
We open at noon every day and close at 11 PM (Fridays from 1:30 PM). The quiet window for a couple is 6 to 8 PM; families fill the room from 8 PM on, especially Thursday to Sunday. For groups of eight or more, send a WhatsApp a day ahead and we hold the table.
A dinner for two, around $35
- Start with garlic bread and onion rings — $7 for both.
- One BBQ chicken with rice ($11) and one creamy pesto fettuccine ($11). Share.
- A Nutella crepe to finish ($8), two fresh lemonades.
A family of four, around $60
- Mini La Tavola combo to start — wings, strips, onion rings, mozzarella sticks and wedges ($14).
- A half grilled farouj plate ($12) and a Swiss and mushroom burger ($12) for the parents, a margherita pizza for the kids ($8).
- Chicken strips from the kids menu for the youngest ($6).
- One fettuccine crepe in the middle of the table.
Getting here
La Tavola is on Salim Slam Street, Beirut, right next to LIU. Side-street parking is usually easy before 8 PM. In Google Maps or Waze, search “La Tavola Beirut”.
If you’d rather stay home
Everything above delivers across Beirut. Order from the online menu or on WhatsApp; the delivery-only combos (crispy chicken by the 15 and 20 pieces, farouj with bones) are built for exactly this kind of night.
